Brushcutter/Strimmer

Comply with current legislation relevant Strimmer/Brushcutter 
Read, understand and comply with the manufacturers handout for Strimmer/Brushcutter
Identify the basic construction, names of components and purpose and use of all controls and gauges on the Strimmer/Brushcutter
Interpret the information displayed on the Strimmer/Brushcutter
Perform pre-use and running checks to the equipment as per Manufacturers Handbook and company policy
Prepare, set up and operate the Pedestrian Operated Mower in a range of tasks associated to its use
Comply with the Approved Codes of Practice
Identify the hazards associated to operating the Strimmer/Brushcutter in relation to the other factors i.e other people, overhead hazards, ground conditions and other hazards
Park, store and place the equipment in an 'out of service' condition after use
Load and unload equipment on an off a transporter/trailer 
Perform basic operator maintenance as per the Manufacturers Instructions and Company Policy
Be aware of risks associated with overriding safety features/devices/guards
Employee responsibility is emphasised around work equipment, machinery, safety, reporting defects and using it as trained

Leaf Blower

Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
Use of all the operators handbook, other information sources, Approved Codes of Practice and legislative documents.  
Comply with company policy by wearing the correct PPE
Pre-use, start, running checks and close-down procedure
Operate the leaf blower safely and efficiently according to the manufacturers instructions and approved code of practice
Explain the dangers associated with the tasks
Precautions and actions for underground and overhead services and other hazards
Loading procedures on and off a transporter
Trained Operator Achievement Test
